Individually crafted ONE-DAY Workshops at Shamper’s Bluff
In 2017 Freeman will be hosting individually crafted one-day workshops of six hours for one to three persons at his home and grounds at Shamper’s Bluff. (In addition, Joanne Nutter will prepare a delicious sit-down lunch.)
Freeman will plan the content of the day with each individual or group. The day might include a walking tour, field instruction and guidance with making photographs (including the use of particular techniques), discussion and/or short visual presentations on topics such as various aspects of visual design, symbols and the role of the Unconscious in creating art, or other subjects of interest to both amateurs and professionals, and evaluation of images made during the day or previously. Freeman is completely open to considering other suggestions, but definitely would prefer not to spend time explaining basic camera operation or talking about computer programs.
The day can begin as early as 7 a.m. or later, but lunch will be served around 1 p.m. (There will be a coffee/tea break for early starters.)
The cost for the day (including lunch) is CDN$1000 plus 15% HST for one person, $1050 for two persons, $1100 for three. We request a non-fundable deposit of $50 when you register, but will not debit your credit card until after January 1. Full payment is required one week prior to the workshop.
We take registrations on a first-come, first-served basis.
Possible accommodation and extended stay: As most workshop participants will require accommodation, you may wish to consider renting Freeman’s cottage at the edge of forest behind his house. This is a small fully furnished two-bedroom house that sleeps three easily (or a couple and two others), has two bathrooms, laundry facilities, large kitchen, a living-room/dining space, a balcony and deck, and Wi-Fi. The cottage is ideal for those who want extended time for photography at leisure or time for a personal retreat. Guests will have full access to the paths and hiking trails through the gardens, fields, and forests of Shamper’s Bluff.
Possible 2017 dates for one-day workshops will be during these periods (Saturdays excepted):
